SMA Tarmac Driveway in Rumney, Cardiff

This Rumney frontage was redesigned to create a larger, practical parking area with a clean, low-maintenance finish. The completed driveway uses a 6mm Stone Mastic Asphalt wearing course framed by a slate-grey Country Cobble border.

Why this specification was chosen

SMA provides a dense, durable surface for residential vehicle traffic. The fine 6mm finish and contrasting Country Cobble frame create a neat, defined edge at the pavement and boundaries.

Levels, drainage, edge restraint, sub-base construction and compaction must be dealt with before the wearing course is installed. We assess each Cardiff driveway individually so the finished surface falls correctly and remains well supported.
