Block Paving Built to Last

At Robinson Brickwork & Paving, we help you choose a driveway that suits your home, from standard blocks laid in herringbone with a contrasting border to the timeless look of Country Cobble. Castlepave and Kingspave are firm favourites of ours too, with plenty of colours, sizes and finishes to explore.

You do not need to decide from a photo alone. We can bring samples round, drop off catalogues or guide you through suppliers’ websites. If you would rather see a larger display, we can point you towards trusted local suppliers where you can compare the options in person.

Our team takes care of the excavation, base, drainage and neat finishing details, including borders, steps and manhole covers. We agree the design with you before laying starts, and our installations come with a five-year workmanship guarantee.

For ideas, have a look through our Facebook and Instagram pages. You will find driveways we have completed for customers across Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Show us a finish you like and we can talk through how it could work at your property.

Customer questions

What affects the price of a block-paving driveway?

The main factors are the area, access, excavation and ground conditions, drainage, the selected blocks and pattern, and details such as borders, steps, walls and manhole covers. We inspect the site before providing a written quotation.

How is water managed on block paving?

That depends on the levels, ground and paving system. We assess the falls and where water can safely drain, then specify suitable drainage or a permeable build-up where appropriate.

Aesthetic

With correct excavation, compaction and edge restraint, block paving provides a hard-wearing driveway surface for everyday vehicle use. The blocks can accommodate detailed shapes and borders, and individual damaged or stained blocks can be lifted and replaced without resurfacing the entire drive.

Routine care usually means sweeping, occasional washing and topping up jointing sand when needed. Airborne seeds can still grow in surface debris, so regular cleaning helps prevent weeds and moss from becoming established. Sealants are optional and should only be used when suitable for the chosen blocks.

Block paving is available in modern and traditional styles, with contrasting borders and laying patterns that can complement the property. We help you choose colours and blocks that work with the house, entrance, walls and surrounding paving rather than treating the surface in isolation.
